Goddess of JUPITER

“Goddess of JUPITER” is part of a series where I portray the planets of the solar system as goddesses, based on the appearance of each celestial body, their symbols, their cultural importance and their respective gods. You can already see in my profile NEPTUNE, URANUS and SATURN.

Jupiter is named after the king of the gods in Roman mythology, the god of the sky and thunder. Its astronomical symbol (♃) is a stylized representation of the god's lightning bolt. Her throwing spear is based somewhat on the shape of the symbol.

The look of her skin reflects the atmosphere of the planet, which is visibly composed of counter-rotating cloud bands that result in turbulence and storms.

Her clothes where mainly inspired by Wonder Woman and Thor’s costumes in the motion pictures. The only reason she has a big cleavage is to show the Great Red Spot (a giant storm) placed in her heart, because I like the idea that she is fighting something within her.

Sagittarius is the zodiac sign ruled by Jupiter.
